A motorist drove into a crowd in France.

A motorist rammed a crowd at a kite festival in northern France, at least 11 people were injured.

The incident reportedly took place on Saturday evening in the commune of Berck, in the department of Pas de Calais. According to prosecutors, the 76-year-old driver lost control after confusing the brake pedal with the gas pedal. 11 people were injured, four of them are in critical condition.

“The festival in Bercks-sur-Mer on Saturday turned into a tragedy. A car whose driver ‘lost control’ ‘accidentally hit’ ten pedestrians on Saturday during an ‘international meeting of kite owners’,” local media reported.
