One passenger on the cruise ship bound for Argentina was killed and four were injured in the impact of the killer wave, the Viking cruise line said in a statement.

Killer waves are called waves, the height of which is more than twice the height of the other waves.

According to the statement, the incident occurred on November 29 at 22.40 local time. The ship itself “received minor damage” and on November 30 arrived at the port of Ushuaia in southern Argentina.

“It is with great sadness that we have confirmed that one of the guests has passed away following the incident,” the press release said.

The company did not provide details regarding the deceased passenger, however, according to the Argentine agency Telam, we are talking about a US citizen. It is noted that four more people received injuries that do not pose a threat to life.
