The US Department of Justice said that US authorities had discovered a “secret police station” in China in New York and arrested two of its employees.

At a press conference, a representative of the ministry accused the suspects of processing official Chinese documents and providing other “government services”, as well as of persecuting dissidents.

“The suspects worked together to establish a police station in Chinatown in Manhattan on behalf of… the national police of the Chinese government,” he said.
