A Starbucks coffee shop in a shopping center in Kahramanmaraş was attacked. The shotgun attack caused great fear and panic.

One person was reported injured in the attack.

Protests against McDonald’s and Starbucks coffee shops have been going on in Turkey for some time, more precisely, since the beginning of the military conflict in the Gaza Strip. Boycotts of Israeli products and companies that support (according to the Turks) the “Israeli occupation of Gaza” are being called throughout Turkey, but they have not led to the closure of any outlets. In particular, activists of the ruling Justice and Development Party of Turkey staged protests at Starbucks, occupying all the seats on the verandas for half an hour in protest; in October, the windows of a McDonald’s branch near the Israeli consulate in Istanbul were broken.

The Turkish segment of social networks was previously shocked by the dismissal of a news anchor because she went on air with a cup with the Starbucks logo.
