American military instructors arrived in Armenia on Monday as part of bilateral defense cooperation, the press service of the Armenian military department reported.

“As part of the Armenian-American cooperation in the field of defense, on April 1, a group of US mobile instructors visited the Republic of Armenia. In the administrative complex of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, from April 1 to 5, the instructors will conduct training with employees of the information and public relations department of the Ministry of Defense and the state institution “Zinuzh Media” exercises to exchange experience in the field of public relations and communications,” a message published on the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Defense says.

It is noted that at the opening of the program, the First Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan made an opening speech.

In November 2023, the Armenian Ministry of Defense reported that the deputy head of the US European Command, Lieutenant General Stephen Basham, at a meeting with Asryan, expressed the United States’ readiness to continue promoting cooperation programs, as well as initiate new areas of interaction in such areas as strengthening professional non-commissioned personnel, modernization control systems, peacekeeping, military medicine, military education and combat training.
