Assange’s lawyer spoke about his client’s health.

The health of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been undermined by his long imprisonment in a British prison, his lawyer Carlos Poveda said.

“He is suffering, he has been imprisoned for more than 10 years, despite the fact that he was in a shelter. He is in a maximum security prison without the opportunity to have the privileges that other prisoners have. This puts a heavy blow to his emotional stability, psychological and physical integrity,” the lawyer noted.

London’s High Court ruled in favor of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange on Tuesday, giving him the opportunity to continue to challenge his extradition to the US in British courts. At the same time, the court ruled that the next hearing in the case will be held no earlier than May 20 if the American side provides the necessary documents on guarantees regarding Assange’s future in the United States by April 16.
