At least three people have died in the crash of a Precision Air passenger plane in Tanzania, according to local newspaper Citizen.

Earlier, the airline specified that at least 26 people were injured.

Kagera Chief Medical Officer Isezanda Kaniki has confirmed the death of three people as a result of the crash of a Precision Air plane into Lake Victoria.

Two men and one woman are said to have died.

The newspaper’s website added that there were 43 people on board, the search for 17 people continues.

A plane flying from Dar es Salaam to Bukoba crashed into Lake Victoria, and a rescue team was sent to the scene. The crash was caused by bad weather.
