China is a reliable strategic partner of Iran, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said during talks with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araqchi.

“China is a reliable strategic partner of Iran,” the Xinhua News Agency quoted Wang as saying.

The diplomat added that Beijing is ready to strengthen and deepen political mutual trust and mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields with Iran, as well as maintain and strengthen high-level exchanges.

Araqchi is in Beijing on a visit. Prior to that, he visited Pakistan, Oman and Russia, where he discussed issues related to the settlement of the conflict with the United States.

On February 28, the United States and Israel began attacking targets in Iran, and more than 3,000 people became victims of aggression. Washington and Tehran announced a cease-fire on April 8. The negotiations that took place in Islamabad after that ended in vain, while no resumption of hostilities was reported, but the United States began a blockade of Iranian ports. The mediators are trying to organize a new round of negotiations.
