Erdogan says Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis does not exist for him after visiting US

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis with the phrase “he no longer exists for me” after the head of the Greek government paid a visit to the United States

The Turkish leader stressed that Ankara has explained to all partners that its approach to NATO expansion is aimed at combating terrorism and alliances. He pointed out that the route to Europe of the “fethullahist terrorist organization” (FETO), which the country blames for the July 2016 coup attempt, passes through Greece.

According to Erdogan, Turkey agreed that third countries should not be involved in the negotiations. After that, Mitsotakis called on the United States not to sell F-16 fighter jets to the state, the president added.

“After this, for me there is no longer anyone named Mitsotakis. In any case, the US will not make decisions based on his statement,” the Turkish leader concluded.

Earlier, on May 13, the Greek Parliament approved amendments to the agreement with the United States, which allows increasing the American military presence in the region. Amendments were made to the agreement on mutual defense cooperation.
