Estonian parliament names Russia as country sponsoring terrorism

The Estonian parliament declared Russia a sponsor of terrorism, the press service of the supreme legislative body of the Baltic republic reported.

The statement condemning the Kremlin’s policy in Ukraine was supported by 88 deputies (a total of 101 deputies work in the parliament), there were no abstentions or votes against.

“The Parliament declares  the Russian Federation a state sponsor of terrorism, whose actions must be jointly rebuffed. The Parliament calls on the international community to adopt similar declarations,” the document says.

It also states that Estonia made this decision, supporting the corresponding appeal of the Ukrainian Rada
The decision states that the parliament supports the demand to deprive Russia of the status of a permanent member of the UN Security Council, and also calls on the EU countries to show unity in the application of additional economic sanctions against the Russian Federation and its ally Belarus.
