Italy predicted rationing of gas consumption if the price of fuel does not fall

The Italian government will have to ration the consumption of gas and electricity in the future if the price of natural fuel does not decrease. This was announced to journalists in Naples by the leader of the League party Matteo Salvini.

He noted that rationing would need to start with enterprises, and this would be avoided. However, Italy does not have operating nuclear reactors like France, and therefore the country is forced to import energy from abroad.

“If we don’t intervene, then there is a concrete danger of deciding who will have heating, who won’t, who turns on the light and who doesn’t,” said the head of the Liga party.

Earlier it was reported that the exchange price of gas in Europe exceeded $3,300 per 1,000 cubic meters for the first time since March 2022.
