Maduro confirmed Venezuela’s desire to join BRICS.

Venezuela hopes to become a member of BRICS at the 2024 summit, the country’s President Nicolas Maduro said in an interview with Telesur TV channel.

“We have great hope that during the BRICS summit this year, Venezuela will become a full member (of the organization),” he said.

“We must be at the forefront of a new world, a multipolar world, and guarantee the greatest number of benefits for our economy, we must connect to science, knowledge and the most advanced technologies of this world,” Maduro added.

Venezuela has announced its desire to become a full member of BRICS in 2023. It was previously reported that Maduro expects that this could happen at a summit in Russia in October 2024.
