Miley called the alliance with the United States the best defense of Argentina’s sovereignty.

The best way to protect Argentina’s sovereignty is to strengthen the alliance with the United States, the president of the Latin American country, Javier Miley said.

On Friday night, he met with the head of the US Southern Command, General Laura Richardson, who arrived in Argentina. The meeting took place at the naval base in Ushuaia, the southernmost part of the continent from where you can travel to Antarctica.

“Today, the best means to protect our sovereignty is to strengthen the alliance with the United States and all the countries of the world that defend freedom,” Miley said.

“We are grateful for General Richardson’s visit and the support of the United States. We hope that these first steps will mark the beginning of a special relationship between both countries that will allow the tree of freedom to take root in every corner of the planet,” he added.
