Musk turned down Pentagon money to pay for Starlink in Ukraine.

Entrepreneur Elon Musk, in response to Pentagon statements about possible payment for Starlink services in Ukraine, said that he was no longer asking for money from the US military department.

“SpaceX has already withdrawn its funding request,” Musk wrote in response to a report that the Pentagon was considering paying for Starlink services in Ukraine.

The US military department previously confirmed that they are considering the possibility of allocating funds to ensure the operation of the Starlink satellite communications system in Ukraine. The US Department of Defense may use funds from the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, a special program designed to provide ongoing support to the Ukrainian army, for these purposes.

Musk said last week that SpaceX could no longer pay for Starlink’s service in Ukraine. Earlier, the American media, citing documents, wrote that SpaceX was asking the Pentagon to cover the costs. Musk later said he would continue to fund Starlink service in Ukraine.
