Restaurants in Italy began to place electricity bills on storefronts and checks

Payment receipts for electricity, which are paid by representatives of the restaurant business in Italy, began to be published on shop windows and receipts of public catering outlets.

“The initiative aims to make current events transparent to those who run a bar or restaurant,” said Aldo Cursano, who is vice president of the Italian Federation of Public Institutions.

He also explained that these publications will have to explain to cafe visitors the increase in prices for food and drinks.

The owners of food outlets place receipts on the windows and near the cash desks. Some print them on checks. As an example of rising prices, one restaurant located in Palermo is reported where the electricity bill in July of this year was almost 22 thousand euros, and last year – 5.4 thousand.
