Sullivan: Georgia should not help Russia circumvent Western sanctions.

Tbilisi should not give Moscow the opportunity to circumvent Western sanctions, US national security adviser Jake Sullivan said at a meeting with Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili.

The meeting between the Georgian leader and the adviser to the head of the White House took place against the background of mass protests in Georgia against the draft law on foreign agents.

“They discussed the need for Russia to continue to feel the full economic cost of sanctions, export controls and other economic restrictions imposed by the US and a coalition of more than 30 allies and partners,” the White House said in a press release.

According to the press service, Sullivan stressed that Georgia should not become a corridor for Russia to circumvent sanctions.
