The Chinese Foreign Ministry praised Macron’s plan to resolve the Ukrainian crisis

China supports the European side in its efforts to facilitate the early resumption of talks on Ukraine, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said at a briefing on Wednesday.

Earlier it became known that French President Emmanuel Macron wants to turn to China with a plan that, in his opinion, could lead to negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. It is noted that Macron instructed his diplomatic adviser Emmanuel Bonn to work with the head of the office of the foreign affairs commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Wang Yi, to create a basis for negotiations.

“China supports the European side in its desire, based on its own fundamental and long-term interests, to promote the early resumption of negotiations, taking into account the reasonable concerns of all parties, to create a balanced, stable security system in Europe,” Wang Wenbin said, commenting on relevant reports.

He also noted that during Macron’s visit to China, he and Chinese President Xi Jinping exchanged views in detail on the Ukrainian issue.
