The Czech government will limit electricity prices

The Czech government at a special meeting on Monday evening decided to impose restrictions on electricity and gas prices for the population, as well as for individual entrepreneurs and a number of institutions, in particular schools, from November 1, Prime Minister Petr Fiala told reporters.

“We have adopted a national decision on the current high energy prices. We have set the price of electricity, including VAT, at the rate of 6 kroons (0.25 US dollars) per kWh, and gas, also including VAT, at 3 kroons (0.125 US dollars) per kWh. Low prices will be in effect from November. They apply to the population, individual entrepreneurs, as well as a number of institutions, such as schools,” the prime minister said.
