Deputy Interior Minister Dan Jarvis has been appointed Minister of Defense of the United Kingdom.

“Dan Jarvis, Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire and Member of Parliament, has been appointed Minister of Defense,” Prime Minister Keir Starmer said in a statement posted on the social network X.

The former head of the Ministry of Defense, John Healy, previously announced that he was resigning due to insufficient funding.

The new Minister Jarvis served as an officer in the Paratrooper Regiment from 1997 to 2011. During this time, he took part in military operations in Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Iraq and Afghanistan.
