According to the publication, we are talking about a girl in her early 20s who was in constant contact with an AI that learned to understand her. Subsequently, having gained a sense of security in communicating with this instrument, as if with a real friend, the girl distanced herself “from everything and everyone.”
⠀
“Toxic friendship (if you can call it that) Over time, it became an addiction .: This is the first case of “AI addiction” to be monitored at the Addiction Treatment Service (Local Office of Social Services and Health) Ulss 3 in Venice,” the article says.
⠀
According to the chief physician of the medical institution, Laura Suardi, this case of AI addiction did not come as a surprise, as experts understood that similar behavioral difficulties would also appear.
⠀
According to her, as the AI gets to know the person, it begins to give answers corresponding to what he wants to hear.
