It is important for Ukraine’s allies not to slow down the pace of arms supplies to Ukraine, because now is not the right time for this, a senior US Department of Defense official said at a briefing.

“Russia is committed to regrouping, recruiting and rearming. This is not the right time to slow down when it comes to supporting the defense of Ukraine,” he said.

The Pentagon spokesman added that under the current conditions, the United States will not stop the supply of weapons to Kyiv and will continue to “train and arm” the Ukrainians as quickly as possible, since the situation on the battlefield remains “mobile.”

At the same time, the department stated that it is the Ukrainian command that plans operations for their further implementation.

“They (Ukraine) plan and execute their operations. They decide when and how they will conduct their counter-operations,” a Pentagon spokesman said.

For several months now, the Kyiv authorities have been demanding that the West provide them with armored vehicles for offensive operations. Thus, Vladimir Zelensky expressed dissatisfaction with the volume of Western aid: according to him, the supply of ten, 20 or even 50 tanks will not solve the problem, since “the Russian army has a thousand of them.”
