The US and the EU want to reach an agreement on critical raw materials.

US President Joe Biden and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen have agreed to begin talks to conclude a cooperation agreement on a critical raw material for the production of batteries for electric vehicles, according to a joint statement released after the meeting in Washington.

“Such an agreement will contribute to the achievement of our common goals to increase the volume of extraction and processing of materials, and will facilitate access to sources of critical raw materials,” the document says.
