The White House announced the delivery of baby food to the United States by military transport aviation

Military transport aviation began to urgently import scarce baby food from Europe to the United States. This was announced by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

According to her, the first plane that took off from Ramstein Air Base in Germany will deliver 35,000 tons of infant formula to the city of Indianapolis on Sunday.

“This is enough for more than half a million bottles… It usually takes two weeks to transport such products from Europe to the United States, but thanks to Operation Flying Formula, we have reduced the time to approximately three days,” said Jean-Pierre.

It was previously reported that the reason for the shortage of baby food in the United States was the recall of a large batch of formulas after local regulators suspected the possibility of contamination of the Abbott production line with pathogenic bacteria. At the moment, the shortage of mixtures is estimated at about 40-50 percent.
