The White House suspected the DPRK of secretly supplying ammunition to Russia.

The U.S. claims it has intelligence that North Korea is allegedly supplying Russia with a “significant number” of artillery shells for further use in Ukraine, while hiding the real destination of these ammunition, CNN reports, citing declassified intelligence and representatives of the White House.

“In September, the DPRK publicly denied that it intended to send ammunition to Russia. However, our information indicates that the DPRK is secretly supplying Russia in its war in Ukraine with a significant number of artillery shells, while hiding the real destination of the arms shipments,” the council’s coordinator told the TV channel.

At the same time, he did not explain what kind of information he refers to, and did not provide any specific evidence in favor of this version.

According to him, Pyongyang allegedly “is trying to create the impression” that in reality these munitions are sent to the countries of the Middle East and North Africa.

“We will continue to monitor these shipments to see if they are received,” the White House official said.

The declassified intelligence data also does not contain details about exactly how many weapons the DPRK “supplied” to Russia, and how Moscow “paid” for them, CNN points out. The channel, for its part, notes that US officials have not provided evidence to support their claims.
