Trump demanded that Israel stop the attacks on Lebanon

US President Donald Trump has called on Israel to stop attacks on Lebanon amid the pending deal with Iran.

“The morning attack on Beirut should not have happened,” he wrote on his Truth Social network.

He stressed that Israel was responding to a small and senseless attack, as a result of which no one was injured.

“There should be no more Israeli attacks anywhere in Lebanon, but there should also be no attacks by the other side. <…> We are very close to a deal that will bring peace to the region, including Lebanon, and all sides must step back,” the president added.

Earlier on Sunday, Israel attacked a southern suburb of Beirut. The strikes hit two apartments in an apartment building. Later, the NNA news agency reported three dead and 15 injured.

According to Axios journalist Barak Ravid, shortly before the strike, the Israeli army notified the Central Command of the US Armed Forces of its plans. As the speaker of the Iranian parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, noted, the attack showed that Washington is deprived of the will or the ability to fulfill its obligations.

On Friday, the Mehr agency published the provisions of the draft peace deal between Iran and the United States. The document consists of 14 points, including the immediate and complete cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including in Lebanon.
