US President Donald Trump said he did not need the help of allies in the conflict with Iran.
⠀
“We didn’t need any support. We won the war. It didn’t matter a bit,” he told Italian TV channel La7 by phone, answering a question about the contribution of the G7 allies.
⠀
“I have to go, I have an important meeting, but we won the war in Iran. We didn’t need their help,” the US president said.
⠀
Earlier, Italian Foreign Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani, commenting on Trump’s statement about the lack of assistance from Western allies in the conflict with Iran, said that Europe was not at war with Iran.
⠀
On February 28, the United States and Israel began attacking targets in Iran, and more than 3,000 people became victims of aggression. Washington and Tehran announced a two-week ceasefire on April 8.
⠀
The negotiations that took place in Islamabad after that ended in vain, while no resumption of hostilities was reported, but the United States began a blockade of Iranian ports.
