Ukrainian President Zelensky called on Italy to close the country to Russian tourists

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky believes that Italy should be closed to Russian tourists.

According to the Ukrainian leader, new sanctions against Russia are needed.

“I consider strong steps regarding tourism. Russian tourists should be culturally rebuffed to know they are not welcome. Even those who were not on the battlefield, they are silent, they support their political leadership,” Zelensky explained.

The President of Ukraine thanked Europe for the restrictions on Russian oligarchs and stressed that the pressure should also be felt by people who come to rest in European countries.
In early May, Italian President Sergio Mattarella warned against the spread of negative attitudes towards Russia that arose as a result of a special operation in Ukraine. The politician added that such an attitude towards Russian culture observed in Europe is difficult and counterproductive for Italy.
