Ukrainians will raise money to invite Johnson to Kyiv

The Ukrainian ambassador in London, Vadim Prystaiko, said Ukrainians wanted to invite British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to Kyiv, for which they would have to raise money.

According to him, the British politician was extremely popular in Ukraine.

“To explain to you how popular it was: Ukrainians have just successfully raised enough money to buy a pair of Turkish-made drones through crowdfunding,” Prystoiko said.

He added that the people of Ukraine appreciated Johnson’s appearance and the way he spoke to the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada. The ambassador expressed hope that Johnson’s successor would be like him.

Earlier, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak thanked Boris Johnson for supporting the country. According to him, Johnson showed leadership qualities and supported the country “in the most difficult times.”

On July 7, Johnson announced his resignation as British Prime Minister. He also announced that he was leaving the post of leader of the Conservative Party. The politician was forced to step down after a scandal caused by drunken harassment of his protégé, deputy party coordinator Chris Pincher.
