“China will firmly support Pakistan in its efforts to protect state sovereignty and territorial integrity, development interests and national dignity, to achieve stability and unity, development and prosperity,” Xi Jinping said, quoted by the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

According to him, Beijing highly appreciates the fact that Islamabad steadfastly promotes friendly cooperation with China and thanks the Pakistani side for supporting China in its most important issues.

“China expresses its deepest sympathy to the people of Pakistan affected by the severe floods. China will provide additional emergency assistance, assist in the reconstruction of Pakistan after natural disasters, support Pakistan in the restoration of agricultural production, strengthen cooperation with Pakistan in the field of disaster prevention and mitigation, and in the fight against climate change,” Xi Jinping added.

He stressed that “faced with a high degree of uncertainty in the world, both sides should stand on the right side of history, maintain high-level cooperation in international multilateral mechanisms, maintain close cooperation on major international and regional issues, defend true multilateralism, uphold international justice and impartiality, protect the common interests of developing countries“.

“China is ready to work with the Pakistani side to promote the implementation of the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative, promote the development of the global economic governance system in a more just, rational and beneficial direction, build a “community with a common destiny for mankind”, provide a reliable guarantee for the development of the two countries, and contribute greater contribution to maintaining world peace, stability and common prosperity,” the Chinese leader stressed.
