Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, said that Armenian border guards and customs officers are ready to ensure the normal passage of vehicles and trains through Armenia from Azerbaijan.

According to him, issues related to the unblocking of regional communications were discussed on Thursday in working mode.

“I want to reaffirm that Armenia is really interested in this, and we are ready to start unblocking all transport and economic ties and communications based on the sovereignty and jurisdiction of our country. I want to reaffirm this position, and I want to confirm that we are ready Both the border service and the customs service of Armenia are ready to ensure the normal passage of all vehicles, in particular trains, through the territory of Armenia,” Pashinyan said.

According to him, Yerevan expects that the Azerbaijani railway will also be open for cargo, railway trains of Armenia through Nakhichevan and through the Republic of Azerbaijan, in particular to Russia and Iran.

“And we expect this issue to be resolved on a parity basis, based on the sovereignty and jurisdiction of countries,” the prime minister said.
