Tim Cook about fake news: ‘They killing people’s minds’

Fake news becomes a big problem for the modern community, and Tim Cook is afraid that they are just ‘killing people’s minds’.

Apple CEO Tim Cook believes that the rise of fake news is a simple short-term thing, in fact, people don’t want them. But during presidential election campaign, Donald Trump and his team were a beneficiary of fake news. However, his aide Kellyanne Conway later qualified those falsehoods as ‘alternative facts. How elegant indeed!

Tim Cook as CEO of the huge corporation also called for governments to lead information campaigns to crack down on fake news. The promoting misinformation for political gain is not the good idea for any community.

“We are going through this period of time right here where unfortunately some of the people that are winning are the people that spend their time trying to get the most clicks, not tell the most truth,”

Cook told the Daily Telegraph.

“It’s killing people’s minds, in a way.”
