North Korea threat: Shinzo Abe and Trump agree to take further action

North Korea threat is getting more and more serious, so the international community, starting with China and Russia, must take this obvious fact seriously and increase pressure. The Japan’s prime minister and the US president have already agreed to take action.

On Monday, Shinzo Abe told a press that he and Donald Trump agreed to take necessary measures against North Korea following its latest missile launch on July 3 and July 28. According to Mr Abe, the American president pledged to protect Japan, both leaders called on China and Russia to do more to stop Pyongyang’s nuclear tests.

The prime minister added that international community was doing its best to resolve the North Korean problem in a peaceful manner. Unfortunately, Pyongyang’s manner to ignore these efforts void these efforts may lead only to the escalating the tense situation. The o one-sided way in the resolving of international problems never worked, added Mr Abe in his statement to the journalist on Monday.

Japan intends to do utmost to protect the safety of its people, according to Abe, it is the right time to pursue concrete actions to bolster defence system and capabilities under the firm solidarity with the American help.

Japan;s PM and Donald Trump has a phone conversation, after that, the White House said that North Korea ‘poses a grave and growing direct threat to the United States, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and other countries near and far.’ Moreover, the Japanese, US and South Korea bomber-jets spent 10-hour-long flyover over the Korean peninsula.

The UN Ambassador Nikki Haley stressed in her statement,

“The time for talk is over. The danger the North Korean regime poses to international peace is now clear to all.”
