Silvio Berlusconi concerned with the unbelievable unemployment rate, especially among the young Italians. During his speech, the former prime minister pledged to create jobs, the same move he was using 17 years ago, too.
Silvio Berlusconi insisted that the centre-Right was the party most likely to guarantee Italy “stability”. The ex-head of the Ilatian government is going to win the election again, Berlusconi believes that Italy’s economic and job market should be revived through the creation of new jobs for Italians. Especially, young generation of Italians:
‘There are three million young people who don’t work. They get up at midday and go to the discotheque,’
Berlusconi stressed and decried Italy’s unemployment rate of 11 percent, which rises to 32 percent among young people.
Immigration has become a key issue in the election campaign, particularly after the murder and dismemberment of an 18-year-old Italian girl, allegedly by three Nigerians, and the revenge shooting of six African migrants by a 28-year-old Italian man with fascist allegiances in the town of Macerata in the Marche region.
Berlusconi takes credit for ending the Cold War
The eccentric Italian politician has made many claims in the course of Italy’s rough-and-tumble election campaign, and on Thursday he added another: he was the key architect behind the end of the Cold War.
During morning television talk show, the leader of Italy’s center-right bloc said:
“When I was in government in 2001, I said publicly that I wanted to end the Cold War, which had been going on for 50 years and was a terrible anguish.”
The former prime minister praised himself, saying that Rome was a place where both Russian and American leaders have agreed to end the Cold War.
“And I succeeded (in ending the Cold War) because here in Rome, at Pratica di Mare (air base) in 2002 I convinced George Bush and Vladimir Putin, using all my talents of friendly relations, to end the Cold War,”
the 81-year-old Berlusconi said.
