Saudi Arabia’s Sharia law reads to punish homosexual relations with death. As The Daily Mail reported, five victims of a Saudi mass execution were gay lovers, according to a confession which appeared at their Sharia court trial.
Saudi Arabia is continuing to behead its citizens because of their non-traditional sexual orientation. On Tuesday, another mass execution took place – five of the 37 men beheaded allegedly admitted to having sex with four of his co-accused ‘terrorists.’ However, the human rights activists from reprive insist that many complained at trial their confessions were obtained through torture.
A lad was tortured with electricity and beheaded in Saudi Arabia because he sent WhatsApp messages about a protest aged 16. Another lad, the 21-year-old Abdulkarim al-Hawaj, was a schoolboy when he was detained and accused of being a “terrorist” for sending texts online about a protest march against. According to Reprieve, Mr al-Hawaj was beaten and tortured with electricity while his hands were chained above his head when he “confessed” to his crimes.
In Saudi Arabia, many things can be used to justify a death sentence, one of them is ‘disobedience against the King’, ‘preparing banners with anti-state slogans’ and ‘incitement via social media’. Of course, homosexuality is punishable by death in the Gulf state which adheres to Sharia law.
The international human rights organizations have earlier expressed their concern that it is also yet another gruesome indication of how the death penalty is being used as a political tool to crush dissent from within the country’s Shiite minority in Saudi Arabia.
