Laos records decline in new COVID-19 cases

Laos health authorities have reported 547 new coronavirus cases across 18 provinces and cities on Monday, which means a sharp decline against the previous day, VietnamPlus says.

The Lao Ministry of Health confirmed on Monday the new infections dropped by 304. Vientiane, the capital city, also saw a decrease in new cases by 119 on the day, but still logged the highest number of 204.

The national count has reached 106,778, with 328 fatalities, according to the Health Ministry f Laos.

The officials have urged people displaying symptoms or having direct contact with coronavirus patients to promptly go to medical establishments or contact mobile medical teams to test for the novel pathogen.

In an effort to decline infections in the community, the Lao government asked business operators nationwide to halt all activities once COVID-19 cases are detected within their vicinity, to apply prevention and control measures in keeping with guidelines of the authorities.
