NATO is exploring the possibility of strengthening air defenses due to the threat of missiles and drones.

NATO is exploring ways to strengthen its air and missile defenses to deal with possible threats in the form of drones and cruise missiles, said Johnny Stringer, Deputy Commander of NATO’s Joint Air Command.

NATO is weighing how to strengthen its air and missile defenses to deal with threats such as commercially available drones and cruise missiles.

Stringer also said the alliance needs to focus on strengthening air defenses in a variety of ways, from radar and early warning systems to missiles, “in line with the threats” NATO faces.

The deputy commander of the command noted that over the past decade, the number of challenges facing NATO has increased, including due to the ability of some countries, as well as terrorist groups, to acquire and use drones as weapons.
