Moldova announced the achievement of independence from Russian gas.

Vice Prime Minister of Moldova Andrei Spinu in his Telegram channel claims that Moldova has achieved independence from Russian gas supplies.

“For the first time in the history of our country, the right bank will not consume gas supplied by Gazprom. Since last year, we have promised to create reserves and find alternatives to stop depending on one source. We managed to do it,” the politician wrote.

He also said that in the last month of the year, Moldovagaz will receive from Energocom about one hundred million cubic meters of gas at an average price of $1,108.61 per thousand cubic meters.

In addition, the official indicated that the above cost includes the purchase of fuel, transportation and storage costs.

Earlier, the Moldovan authorities ordered the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) to change the tariffs for electricity and heat due to the increase in natural gas prices.
