Sarkozy demands Jungle migrant camp moves from Calais to the UK

Sarkozy, the ex-President of France, is back to the big politic. In his recent statement, he demands to move the Jungle migrant camp to the UK from Calais. Nicolas Sarkozy said Britain should be caring for asylum seekers hoping to live in the UK under 2003 Touquet accord.

Sarkozy and his political comeback ahead of presidential elections in France sound loud enough. The statement of the former French President insisted on the active actions of the UK authorities: according to Sarkozy, Jungle migrant camp moves from Calais to the UK. The Touquet accord stipulates this very clearly.

Sarkozy last week announced that he’ll be run for a French presidency in 2017, so now, he started a respective activity. His to-do list has as #1 point the migrant issue. In 2003 Britain and France agreed to the Touquet accord, under which French officials can check passports in the UK and vice versa. The accord essentially made France responsible for dealing with migrants and refugees hoping to travel illegally to Britain.

Nicolas Sarkozy added:

“I’m demanding the opening of a centre in Britain to deal with asylum seekers in Britain so that Britain can do the work that concerns them.”
