An employee of the US Secret Service is suspected of leaking information about the trips of US Vice President Jay Dee Vance for a news article in the digital edition of MS Now, CNN reported, citing a source.

“The employee is also suspected of being the source for a recent article on MS Now about Vance’s security agents’ dissatisfaction with the burden placed on them by the vice president’s personal travel schedule,” the TV channel said.

As one of the sources noted, the media publication attracted the attention of officials of the Secret Service, the FBI and the White House, who were unhappy because the details of the operations were covered in the press. Another source added that officials had identified the person who allegedly disclosed information about the vice president.

“A Secret Service employee… He is undergoing an internal audit…, he was placed on administrative leave due to suspicion of leaking information for the news, which includes details about Vance’s travels,” CNN reported, citing a source.

Earlier, the digital edition of MS Now, citing sources, reported that the Secret Service was unhappy with Vance’s frequent requests to use military helicopters for the personal needs of the family. According to the publication, Secret Service agents were “fed up” with the frequent last-minute schedule changes of the Vance family, as it forced them to cancel weekends, urgently develop security plans and increases taxpayer costs.

According to the Pentagon’s budget estimates for 2022, the operation of a military helicopter costs taxpayers from 16 thousand to 24.6 thousand dollars per hour, the newspaper reports.
