An earthquake hit the Turkish province of Kahramanmaras.

An earthquake of magnitude 4.7 was registered in the Turkish province of Kahramanmaras, the disaster management agency (AFAD) said.

“An earthquake of magnitude 4.7 occurred in the Goksun district of Kahramanmarash province at 09:47,” the report said.


It is specified that the earthquake occurred at a depth of about 7 kilometers.


Earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 occurred on February 6 with an interval of nine hours in the province of Kahramanmaras in southeastern Turkey. Tremors were felt in 11 provinces of the country and neighboring states, including Syria. The Turkish authorities have called the earthquake “the catastrophe of the century.” The death toll reached 48.4 thousand people, the bodies of 1615 dead have not yet been identified.
