EU Council approves Croatia’s accession to the Eurozone

The EU Ministerial Council for Economics and Finance approved the decision on Croatia’s accession to the euro area from January 1, 2023. This is stated in a statement published on Tuesday by the press service of the EU Council.

“The EU Council has adopted the necessary legal acts. Croatia will become the 20th EU country that joins the euro zone,” the document says.


Earlier, this decision was approved by the EU summit on June 24 and the European Parliament on July 5.
