F-22 Raptor fighters arrived in Poland.

F-22 Raptor fighters arrived in Poland.

American F-22 Raptor fighter jets have arrived in Poland, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of Poland Mariusz Blaszczak said on Twitter.

“American F-22 Raptor fighter jets have landed in Poland. Some of the most advanced aircraft in the world will interact with Polish pilots, continuing to support the eastern flank of the alliance,” he wrote, without naming the number of aircraft.

According to the command of the US Air Force in Europe and Africa, the planes were transferred to the Polish Powidz (Greater Poland Voivodeship) as part of a rotational mission. They belong to the 94th Squadron from Langley-Eustis Air Force Base in Virginia and will replace the F-15 aircraft from the 48th Air Regiment.

Previously, F-22s were stationed in Poland until October last year as part of the presence of NATO combat aircraft on the eastern flank, in the region of the Baltic and Black Seas.

More than 10,000 NATO soldiers are stationed in Poland, most of them from the US military.

In August last year, it became known that the United States increased the number of its F-22 Raptor fighters in Poland to 12.
