The number of foreign mercenaries going to Ukraine is constantly growing, Konstantin Gavrilov, head of the Russian delegation at the talks in Vienna on military security and arms control, said on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
“We have been talking more than once at all meetings of recent months that more and more mercenaries are appearing. We indicate the countries from which they arrive, including in the Kharkov direction, in Zaporozhye, in Kherson. They are mainly British, Poles, Americans And from other countries, there are even from Georgia. We say this quite clearly and definitely,” he said.
In mid-July, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that since February 24, more than seven thousand mercenaries from more than 60 countries have arrived in Ukraine – from Europe and Asia to America and from Africa to Australia. As noted by the official representative of the military department, Igor Konashenkov, mercenaries are not considered combatants and in the future they will face trial and prison.
