Germany is counting on the resumption of pumping through the Nord Stream

Vice Chancellor, German Economy Minister Robert Habek said he expects the resumption of gas pumping through Nord Stream after a scheduled inspection in July, but does not rule out a further decrease in total pumping volumes.

Earlier, the Nord Stream operator Nord Stream AG announced that both pipeline strings would be shut down from July 11 to July 21 for scheduled maintenance.

“This is a regular maintenance, it was announced as such and was also carried out last year. Then it took about ten days. When you ask what I expect – that this time period will be observed and from July 20 gas will again will be pumped,” Habek told reporters in Berlin.

In addition, he was asked if he ruled out a further decrease in pumping volumes, which was observed earlier.

“No, to be honest, this cannot be ruled out. We have already seen a decrease in pumping. Technical reasons (for this decision) have been stated. If they have already been named once, then this can, of course, happen again. This is an open secret. In A situation like this cannot be ruled out,” Khabek added.
