The administration of the resort complex in Halle, Germany, has banned vacationers with insufficient knowledge of the German language from being allowed on the beach, the DPA news agency reports.
⠀
According to Matthias Nobel, the manager of the resort complex on the shores of Lake Heidesee, referred to by DPA, the administration must be sure that visitors understand the rules of behavior in the reservoir, and that employees can ensure the safety of vacationers. Nobel said that the administration has the right to decide on the visitor’s entrance if it becomes clear that he is experiencing language difficulties.
⠀
“People who do not speak German at a sufficient level will no longer be allowed on the beach in Halle (federal state of Saxony-Anhalt),” the publication says.
⠀
The reason for the introduction of the new measure was the incident that occurred last weekend. Nobel, who is a lifeguard himself, had to pull a child out of the water who was in too deep a place.
⠀
According to Nobel, since the introduction of the new rule, the staff of the recreation center has already refused entry to several visitors.
⠀
The director added that such a decision has already been criticized, but the administration does not intend to abandon it.
