Le Pen will hold an emergency meeting with party members after the trial

The leader of the parliamentary faction of the French right-wing National Unification party, Marine Le Pen, will hold an emergency meeting with members of her party after the Paris Court of Appeal sentenced her, BFMTV reported.

The Paris Court of Appeal earlier commuted Le Pen’s sentence to three years in prison, of which one year was with an electronic bracelet and two more years were suspended.

“Le Pen arrived at the headquarters of the National Association for a key meeting with party members,” the TV channel notes.

According to BFMTV, the head of the party, Jordan Bardella, will take part in the meeting.

Earlier, Agence France-Presse reported that the Paris Court of Appeal had reduced the ban on Le Pen from being elected to public authorities, and she would formally be able to run for president of France in 2027.
