Mogherini asks US not to ‘interfere’ in European politics

Frederica Mogherini arrived in Washington with the delicate mission, during her two-day trip the EU foreign affairs chief hinted new Trump administration on the one thing: not to interfere in European politics.

Federica Mogherini held the first meetings with Trump’s officials on Feb 10, the moment in the relations between is very uncertain, that’s why EU FA asked Trump administration not to interfere in the issues of the politics in the EU.

“We do not interfere in US politics… And Europeans expect that America does not interfere in European politics,”

warned Mogherini during her first ever meeting with the new presidential office in DC.

While the new US leader has praised Britain’s decision to leave the European Union, Mrs Mogherini stressed:

“The unity of the European Union, I believe, is more evident today than it was some months ago,”

she added as well:

“The UK will stay a member state of the European Union for another two years at least… And it will not be able to negotiate any trade agreement bilaterally with any third country.”

Last week Ted Malloch allowed himself to compare Brexit with the collapse of the USSR, meaning the leaving the European Union is just start of its eventual disintegration.

Mogherini said that EU is still strong and united, she stressed:

“The European Union is here to stay.”
