More than ten people were injured after a subway accident in Mexico City.

Ten people were injured after a train collision on the third line of the Mexico City metro, four more were blocked in the cars, said the Minister of the Interior of the capital, Marty Batres, according to preliminary information, there is a dead person.

“We are already at the scene, we know of 10 injured people taken to hospitals, four blocked people, they are being rescued, and apparently one person has died. We will continue to inform,” Batres wrote on his Twitter blog.


Around 9 a.m. Saturday, two trains collided on the third line of the Mexico City metro between La Raza and Potrero stations in the city center. The subway reported that traffic on this branch was stopped, a press conference of local authorities with official information about the incident is expected.


Over the past three years, four major accidents have occurred in the Mexico City subway. The span of the metro bridge collapsed along with a passing train on May 3, 2021, killing 26 people and injuring 105. In a train collision at Takubaya station on March 10, 2020, one person died and 41 were injured. A fire at the central metro control station on January 9, 2021 caused the death of a person, another 29 were injured.
