NATO has decided to increase the number of rapid reaction forces to 300,000.

NATO has decided to increase the number of rapid reaction forces to 300,000.

NATO will increase the strength of the NATO Rapid Response Force to more than 300,000 people, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said.

Now the number of NATO rapid reaction forces is 40 thousand people.

According to Stoltenberg, the alliance’s summit in Madrid will adopt a new NATO security concept, in which Russia will be recognized not as a partner of the organization, but as a threat.

“Leaders will approve a new strategic concept that will reflect the current security situation. In it, Russia will be listed as one of the significant threats to our security,” said the Secretary General of the alliance.

The NATO Rapid Response Force is a military unit allocated by the member states of the alliance to the Alliance Operational Command, which is intended to provide operational support to NATO operations.

On February 25, NATO member countries approved the deployment of a NATO rapid reaction force “to protect participating countries from Russian aggression.”
