Norway’s Equinor discovers 10 million barrels of new oil field

Norwegian mining company Equinor has discovered a new oil and gas field in the Barents Sea.

“Drilling operations were carried out safely and efficiently. The new field will be explored together with our partners, we will also consider the further development of this production area,” the company said.

They also added that the field contains about 5-10 million barrels of oil. However, the company did not report on the volume of the discovered gas.

On June 6, the Polish oil and gas concern PGNiG announced a decision to invest over $160 million to expand oil and gas fields. The report added that the result will be an increase in oil and gas production. In addition, the life of deposits can increase by almost 20 years.
